The Spray Foam Business Director is responsible for developing and executing the growth strategy for the Spray Foam insulation business at JM, as part of the Insulation Systems team.  This includes setting business and financial goals, and then being responsible for achieving or exceeding those goals.  Responsibilities include developing and implementing plans for sales, marketing, product management, account management, pricing and overall management of the business P&L, including future strategy and the development of multi-generational product plans.  The Spray Foam Business Director will be directly responsible for, and will lead a team including Product Management, Product Development & Engineering, and Technical Service, [Operations - TBD] and will have indirect responsibility for coordinating support from Corporate R&D resources.  The position will require alignment and partnership with existing JM and Insulation Systems functional areas, including Operations, Sales, Account Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Global Procurement & Logistics, and Customer Service to drive initiatives and improve profitability, quality, and service.  This position reports to the President of Insulation Systems.

Applicants can expect to make between $170,000 to $250,000 upon hire. In addition, this position is eligible for a target incentive bonus under our variable incentive plan, as well as to participate in our long-term incentive program. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Accountable for the profitable growth of the Spray Foam insulation business
  • Lead a dedicated Spray Foam insulation business team comprising Product Management, Product Development & Engineering, and Technical Service resources.
  • Develop and lead execution of the strategy for the Spray Foam insulation business.
  • Develop the Spray Foam insulation business annual operating plan and be responsible for meeting or exceeding all business goals, including sales and profitability.
  • Focus product development efforts to accelerate pace and impact of innovation.  Ensure a robust and competitive Spray Foam product pipeline and portfolio that addresses both short-term and long-term business needs.
  • Work closely with Corporate R&D resources to leverage JM foam expertise.
  • Identify and implement ways to accelerate growth, including the addition and optimization of new markets, channels, customers, geographies, and products.
  • Identify and develop sales channels and penetration plans and own the relationships with key customers, in conjunction with the Building Insulation sales team.
  • Responsible for setting up all contractual and legal agreements as required to execute the business strategy.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of competitive products and solutions and adjust plans and internal/external communications as-needed to address these changes. 
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Global Procurement & Logistics, and other functional areas as needed to identify and attack issues involving costs, service, quality, forecasting, capacity, etc.
  • Provide regular business updates to identify key issues and opportunities, and actions to address them.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive IP and continually search for new JM IP opportunities.
  • Lead and manage direct reports, setting direction and deploying resources.  Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and terminating.
  • Drive a culture of safety and employee personal development.
  • Provides direction, guidance and leadership to ensure individual, team and business/functional unit results are achieved 
  • Actively develops individuals for future leadership roles within and across the organization  
  • Builds and manages a highly skilled and high performing team

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical discipline, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience. Experience in the scale-up and commercialization of smaller-scale products or businesses a plus.
  • MBA or other higher degree an advantage.
  • Experience in the spray foam business/market is a plus
  • Knowledge of various value chains, and channels to market, including B2B and through various distribution structures.
  • Excellent people leadership and personal organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful profit improvement and growth initiatives and strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentations skills.
  • Proven ability to build high-performing teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Excellent critical and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain credibility with customers and trade associations.
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
  • Travel up to 50%.
  • May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds.
  • Work environment is typical of an office setting.
