Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company, has an opening for a Senior Purchasing Agent in our Insulation manufacturing plant located in our Innisfail, Alberta plant. This position is responsible for a variety of purchasing and inventory related tasks. This position reports to the Plant Manager and manages employees in the Storeroom and the Maintenance purchasing agent.

Your Day to Day:

• Responsible for purchasing all raw materials and packaging supplies required for plant operations
• Ensure all general supply needs for plant services, general supplies, capital equipment and onsite services are on target when needed for the facility
• Implement corporate agreements with vendors for supply chain needs to ensure cost effective management
• Inventory management for a large manufacturing facility
• Create purchase requisitions and orders
• Updating records of changes from vendors, back order follow up
• Schedule deliveries of materials for plant operations and SAP related workflow and requests
• Involves a close working relationship with finance, maintenance and production departments to assist in purchase information and troubleshooting
• Provide leadership to the storeroom employees and purchasing agent in MRO operations

What You Bring to the Team:

• Supply Chain Management Diploma (SCMA) preferred
• 10 years experience in purchasing/supply chain management
• Plant knowledge an asset for impacts related to purchasing decisions
• Solid knowledge and proficiency in SAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Solid computer skills 
• Solid collaboration skills — will interact with variety of plant personnel as well as other JM personnel and vendors
• Ability to juggle priorities and time management skills
• Solid ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels
• Solid problem solving skills
