Compensation
Johns Manville is currently seeking candidates for the position of Mechanic Journeyman to be located in our Rockdale, IL Plant. The Rockdale, IL facility manufactures perlite roof insulation board which is a rigid insulation for built up commercial roofs.
Hours: M-F 11:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.
Your Day to Day:
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to experience with diagnostics, ovens, conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, wiring, welding, and pipefitting.
- Ability to perform most routine preventative maintenance as related to basic wiring, motor control, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to respond to production issues and handle maintenance work orders
- Basic fabrication skills and welding are required.
- An understanding of machinery and equipment related to industrial manufacturing is required.
- Must have a general assortment of hand tools and know the use of other tools and equipment common to maintenance work.
- Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.
- Assists in production line(s) changeover and setup.
What You Bring to the Team:
- High school degree with four years of strong industrial experience in mechanical/electrical repairs
- Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer Literate (SAP knowledge is a plus)
- Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
- Proven history of safe practices, working knowledge of lock out/tag out procedures
- Troubleshooting experience with a PLC
- Ability to work independently especially during the night and evening shifts.
- Solid electrical, mechanical, math, and problem-solving skills
- Local candidate that is within 30 miles of the Rockdale facility to be available for any type of emergency situation.
